Warsaw, 29th June 2017

Mr. Edward Ćwierz

Director of „POJEDNANIE” Foundation

Dear Sir / Madame,

I am very sorry that I can’t be with you today in Kielce. An unfortunate accident didn’t allow me to take part in this important event. Few days ago I broke my leg and I am struggling to move, therefore I won’t be able to arrive. It is a shame because I was planning on actively joining you in the March of Life organised by you.

For a long time I have been following with awe every event organised by the „POJEDNANIE” Foundation. I am very impressed by your activities and once again I would like to express my gratitude for the solidarity with Israel.

The 4th of July 1946 Kielce Pogrom left a dark shadow on the history of both of our nations. What happened a year and three months later, after the end of that brutal war, was engraved in our memories forever. For many years this tragedy was covered up by a silence conspiracy and only new democratic Poland, which again started building relations based on honesty and openness, caused us to talk about these dark and disgraceful parts of our history.

I am convinced that your initiatives are incredibly needed these days by Poland and Israel, which contributes to deepening mutual relations between both of our nations.

With gratefulness,

Yours sincerely,

Anna Azari,

Israel’s Ambassador in Poland

Benyamin Barenholc:

„Kochany Edwardzie, wraz z organizatorami Marszu! Niech Was Bóg prowadzi do świętego celu! Amen! B.B – Izrael.”

„Dear Edward and the March of Life’s coordinators! It is a truly amazing fact, that the hall, where the young bandits from Ludwików Steelworks used to hang out, is now a residents’ speaking room for the common weal and for Israel’s good. Your efforts are the only cure healing the wounds of the past! As a miraculous pogrom’s survivor I bow to the new current of change of Polish people and Polish patriots who desire to patch up this big black historical wound tending over the Polish nation. May God lead you to the holy purpose! Amen!  B.B – Israel”
